Can we be forced into backpayments to employers? 4 Years ago  
My friend is a careworker and is due to go travelling with me soon, but his employer has recently told him that they haven't enforced some monthly charge that they should have for several years, and are now informing him he owes them several years of backdated payments.

Is this allowed? I have just asked him for more details which I will post up when I get them.
