No Talking please 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Hi there,

I work for the NHS and recently we have been told in work that we are not permitted to talk to other work colleagues while we are working. Even though supervisors can do so and talk about non work issues which we think is very unfair and they then use the excuse that it is work related information they are talking about when WE the worker catch them out.

Can we be dictated too like this and is the company within its legal rights to do this.

Your help is appreciated indeed.

Thanks.

I would check your employment contract but this sounds a bit over the top. Although some staff will talk the ear of anyone and can be disruptive, but I would have thought this would have been dealt with individually. As long as your job is done without blatant errors I don't see a problem.

Hi,
I think that is a little (okay alot) overboard. I would have an issue with that. I don't understand why they would have this rule, It should be up to the teacher to say when it needs to be quite in the class.

Thanks

Hey,

I don't think that such prohibition is actually existing! This is too much. I don't think that talking can make you less productive!
