Help Needed Relating To Business Rates Liability 7 Months, 1 Week ago
Hi,

I have a family member who is in dire need of some advice...

She owns a commercial property which she has rented by means of a License to a company for the last 10 years until recently (the family member now has the keys and the property is unoccupied). The company which occupied the property has recently appointed a liquidator, it has come to the family members attention that the property does not appear on the VOA website and that the tenant did not receive any demands for business rates and therefore did not pay for the whole 10 years that they occupied the property.

Who is liable when this come to light???

My family member belives she followed the right proceedure by contacting the VOA and advising the company name and contact details when the Tenant occupied the property.

Many thanks,
