I'm the company secretary for a small business with one serving director. The director has incurred debt with a company which he is refusing to acknowledge, the selling company has instructed debt collectors to act on their behalf. They have today turned up at my own house, with wrong information saying that I am a director of the company therefore am liable for the debts. I told them this was utter nonsense, I am named on the companies house paperwork as company secretary only, I have never been a director, therefore they had no right to turn up at my house and harass me in this manner. Can someone tell me my rights?
