The new Health and Safety Offences Act 2008, which could see company directors and accountants jailed if one of their employees is hurt at work. The Act comes into force on 16th January 2009. This new law makes employers personally accountable for the safety of their employees.
The Health and Safety Professional website offers company directors guidance on compliance with the new rules.
